Past Events

Lantern Rite (2023 & 2024)

This was a Genshin Impact themed event held at a mall. Here, we had photo booth set ups for people to take pictures in their Genshin cosplays, we had a cosplay contest, idol performances, an artist alley, festival games, a stamp rally, and a scavenger hunt. We had prizes in the style of gacha pulls to simulate the video game’s gacha features. This ran for one day and it had a great reception! Everyone seemed very entertained with the plethora of activities that we had running. The restaurants in the mall’s food court saw a lot of business from the influx of people in the mall. The local businesses that were open saw an influx of people for the day as well.

Year two! This time, it was held at a small convention center because we outgrew the mall. We had the same sorts of activities as we did the previous year, but we were able to have more cosplay guests, and a couple of voice actors (Patrick Pedraza and Paul Castro Jr.). We upped the ante by having Adventure Guide books printed out as sort of a keepsake. This booklet contained all of the spots for stamps for the stamp rally and games. This booklet also kept track of people's points for prizes. We even had physical “mora” (the in-game currency) for people to use for the festival games like tickets. We also had a VIP dinner for those that purchased the VIP tickets with catering and a show performed by the crew. This was our largest event yet. We ended up outgrowing the venue almost instantly, so the next time it’s hosted, we will need a bigger space!

Host Club Tea in Music Room 3 (2022 & 2023)

This was our very first event after the success of a collaboration with a local dessert shop called Aqua S where we quickly amassed a following. After the positive reception of our group, we kicked off our events with a tea party at Edith’s French Bistro in Plano,TX. There, we had a wide variety of cast members from Ouran High School Host Club where we created an immersive event to make the guests feel like they were in the anime. We acted in character and allowed opportunities for each guest to interact with their favourite host. Afternoon tea was served and when it seemed like everyone had slowed down in their food, we began the festivities where people were able to request certain fan service tasks for each host to do. There were conversation cards available to help anyone with social anxieties. There was also a bingo game to encourage people to participate in the activities. We had our own merchandise table as well with keychains and photocards for sale which did well.
The restaurant even allowed us to extend our time because they saw that the guests were having such a good time and it was drawing positive attention to their restaurant.
This event was our first great success!

This was a repeat event from the first time we did afternoon tea. We held it at a different location than the first one, at Chocolate Angel in Richardson, TX. The style of it was the same as when we first held it. We did fan service for the guests and had activities and games available to play to keep them entertained for the entire duration. We provided keepsakes for all of the guests so that they could commemorate the occasion. Our aim this time was to try to make the afternoon tea as affordable as possible for those who aren't typically able to indulge in these sort of events, and we succeeded, with an incredible turn out!

The Commoner's Festival (2022)

We wanted to do something affordable for people who wanted to attend the Tea Party, but were priced out of the event, so we came up with Commoner’s Festival. This was another Ouran Highschool Host Club themed event, hence the name “Commoner’s Festival” which was a running joke in the anime. It was outdoors during a time where the chance of rain was slimmer and before the heat became too unsafe to host an outdoor event. There, we had idol performances, festival games, artist booths, and snacks and drinks for sale. People could come and go as they pleased. The reception of the event was good and people requested another festival type event for the next year around the same date.

The Anime Sports Festival (2023)

This was an outdoor event around the same date as Commoner’s Fest the previous year, so the weather was lovely. This was an all around anime event where we had our crew dressed in either sports or action anime to go along with the theme. We divided the participants into two teams and they competed in a multitude of field games to be crowned the winner at the end of the event. There were a few artist booths there that seemed to have fun. (One of the artists actually joined in the games.) We had idols as cheerleaders for the “halftime” performance. There were snacks and drinks for sale. It is one of our more requested events to be repeated since people had so much fun.

The Anime Office Holiday Party (2023)

This was a general anime holiday themed office party. It was an event that would mimic a corporate office holiday party where our group pretended to be department heads of a “corporation”. We had cheeky ice breaker games and pizza as satire to American corporate parties. We collaborated with the Anime Institute of Dallas to host this event and bring awareness of the Institute itself. We had mock roles for people to play such as “The Rumor Mill” or “The Office Snitch”. It was a lot of goofy fun.

The Genshin Tavern Event (2023)

This was also a Genshin Impact themed event at a local restaurant to promote Lantern Rite. The restaurant was a small local business that served Italian food and had a tavern-like atmosphere. We partnered with them to host a sort of dinner-and-a-show style event. We encouraged people to cosplay at this event. There were games for people to participate in or watch. It was a smaller event since the restaurant itself wasn’t too large. People seemed to have a lot of fun!

At Mondstadt's Angel Share, we held a secret birthday celebration for Diluc.
